Designed in consultation with inspection bodies, offshore and marine personnel our database is specifically designed for keeping track of equipment and upcoming inspections. It will maintain a catalogue of items and their inspection history & schedule, with links to manufacturer and third party certificates, photographs and notes. The database can also include a reference library for relevant local and international standards and is flexible so as to be modified to suit specific requirements.

The database also takes care of all your DROPS reporting needs and is currently in use within Shell, PTTEP, Total, Chevron, Petronas and Conoco Philips operations.

The software development team utilises Microsoft SQL Server technology along with the Net Framework to develop world class applications that can be web or winform based.

Vertech provides comprehensive lifting gear inspection packages that provide compliance with international standards including LOLER, AS, API and BS.

Visual Inspection techniques and Load Testing are supplemented with a range of NDT disciplines including:
        •  MPI
        •  DPI
        •  Eddy Current Inspection
        •  Ultrasonic Inspection including Phased Array.

Using Rope Access Techniques rapid access can be gained to crane booms and pedestals, derricks, masts and anywhere that lifting equipment is located at heights.

LOLER lifting gear surveys are completed safely and on time/budget by qualified experienced personnel. A lifting equipment database is delivered at the conclusion of every survey.

Our NATA accredited Lifting division is dedicated to ensuring your equipment remains in compliance with all relevant standards such as DNV 2.7, EN12079, Australian, LOLER etc. We do not take this accreditation lightly and all of our inspectors are regularly audited ensuring the highest possible levels of competency.

We recognise the importance of providing prompt and efficient service and are aware of the implications of certification hold ups which is why Vertech has invested in a computer generated reporting system which enables reports to be generated within 48 hours of inspection. On-site generated reports can also be made if required.

Our lifting inspection service includes:

• Certified Visual Inspection of slings and rigging.
• Certified Visual Inspection of baskets, containers and skids etc.
• NDT of lifting points on baskets, containers and skids etc.

Vertech is the first company in Australia to be NATA accredited for conducting pre-load verification of lifted and lifted equipment. The process was developed in consultation with BHPB, Chevron, Shell and Woodside to ensure all client and third party equipment is being properly inspected by competent and experienced personnel.

The initial process involves;

• Meeting with new / exciting vendors to explain load out requirements
• Review all applicable venders testing / inspection procedures
• Review, copy and store relevant testing / inspection documents

On the day of loadout Vertech will complete as a minimum the following checks;

• Ensure all relevant inspection and testing has been performed in accordance with approved and client standards
  
• Ensure all units and rigging are properly identified
  
• All documentation can be cross referenced to units and rigging
  
• All certification is correct and in date
  
• Ensure all equipment is properly secured to avoid potential dropped objects
  
• Identify and quarantine all items that do not meet required standards

Along with our reporting features we can have reports on your desk within 12 hours. Our experienced inspectors can also advise on the necessary requirements to fix any discrepancies with equipment so eliminating hold ups.

As part of our lifting equipment inspection service we offer crane inspections to API RP 2C & 2D. Using multiple NDT & Visual Inspection techniques complete structural integrity & compliance is assured.

Our inspectors have experience across a multitude of crane configurations and working alongside a wide variety of clients and classification societies such as ABS, DNV & Lloyds.

Crane inspections can be carried out by the same personnel as part of a complete lifting gear survey or as a stand-alone service with crane-specific inspection procedures if required & a full report package issued upon completion.

A primary control measure to reduce dropped object potential is to carry out a complete dropped objects survey. The aim of these surveys is to remove loose items left over from construction or maintenance activities and to identify items that are at risk from becoming dropped objects in the future. At risk items are usually fitted with back-up devices during the course of the survey which ultimately results in safer work place.

A complete register is produced at the conclusion of the survey and recommendations are made to close out any outstanding issues.

The DROPS program also includes the provision of training material to assist in implementing safe work practices at heights.
